What is Hypnotherapy?
Today, hypnosis is widely practiced and accepted in our health
care system. When hypnosis is used in a therapeutic setting, a client can create meaningful changes in
their lives. Hypnosis creates a state of deep relaxation in which concentration is focused
and we are hyperaware of our five senses. Since mental stress and physical tension are reduced, the unconscious mind is more receptive to
the suggestions given to effect a change. A client is able to choose what will or will not be allowed to enter
the subconscious mind. Once it is accepted it will respond like a computer to what has
been programmed.
Hypnosis and hypnotherapy can be used effectively for many reasons. It allows the client
to release negative emotions, ideas, and beliefs in order to convert them into
positive ones. It can be used to reduce stress, improve school and athletic performance, develop self-esteem, weight loss,
to stop smoking, pain management and deal with phobia issues. It is also used to treat some
dysfunctional issues by releasing blocks, as well as, for Past Lives and other age regressions. Hypnotherapy can prepare
a patient for medical procedures by reducing their anxiety. It is advised to consult
a physician for physical problems before deciding to schedule hypnotherapy sessions. Usually only
a few sessions are needed to achieve the goal that will resolve a clients needs. The
number of sessions greatly depends on the issues and the individual, but since hypnotherapy
works on the subconscious mind, changes occur much more rapidly.
